Mission:

Corn Products International has a simple but ambitious mission: 

To become the premier regional provider of agriculturally based products
and ingredients worldwide. 

We will reach this mission by building on our four core strengths:

  • Our position in the Americas.  No other corn refiner has the breadth of scale or operating excellence that we do in North and South America. 
  • Our ability to manage geographic breadth.  Corn Products International has a unique understanding of our local markets, customers and product needs. We develop that understanding by staffing our global operations with local professionals who understand their markets better than anyone. This means we have a track record of succeeding – and growing – in markets that our competition often finds too difficult to master.
  • Our expertise at building alliances.  One way to grow a business quickly is by joining forces with others. Corn Products International has developed a reputation for entering into successful partnerships with people around the world to establish new geographies, expand our portfolio or enter new markets.
  • Our reputation, infrastructure and assets.  Corn Products International is recognized for managing our asset base successfully and cost effectively.

Strategy

In 2004 Corn Products International unveiled a multiple pathway strategy that will allow us to accomplish our mission.

  • Excel at the base business:  Operate at maximum efficiency while providing customers with exceptional products and services.
  • Selectively drive organic growth in the base business.  Focus on selected markets, customers and products in order to become and remain our customers’ provider of choice.
  • Expand our value-added product portfolio through multi-geographic
    alliances and acquisitions.
      Continue to join with customers that provide a strategic fit to our markets, customers, products and manufacturing assets, identifying opportunities to provide access to new products that will extend our portfolio.
  • Grow defensible businesses in new high-growth regions by extending
    and establishing critical mass.
      Build our business in those regions of the world that offer the highest potential for growth.
  • Be an ingredients supplier Expand our product portfolio to become a broader-based ingredient company.
